Have you encountered situations lately that didn't make sense? [Photographer: Michael Droelfszehn. Photo courtesy of Pixabay.com.]

Have you noticed strange things that seem impossible? Some occurrences, such as a large cruise ship following a car, just don't make sense.

Confusing situations are like having only one piece of a puzzle. Life doesn't make much sense when incidents are viewed individually.

Each day is like having a single piece of a puzzle. Life doesn't make much sense until we view a lot of such pieces together to see the big picture. [Photographer: Mary Hunt Webb*.]

We may even question why God allowed such things to happen. Those events may continue to puzzle us for years. But, as events and perception slowly come together, like pieces in a puzzle, we may gradually get some insight into parts of the big picture.

Like pieces in a large puzzle, we may start to see how portions of life fit together so that the overall picture begins to take shape. [Photographer: Mary Hunt Webb*.]

That may not occur all at once. It seldom happens right away because it requires trusting that the Lord sees the entire picture while we wait on Him to provide clarification. Jeremiah 17:7 reminds us that, "…blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him." (NIV)

Psalm 121:8 assures us that, "the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (NIV) With that confidence, we don't need to worry. Everything will be all right because He cares for us, and He knows how the pieces all fit together.
